Narrative
Resi built a tremendous business with their initial Ray and Server Grade Encoders. My mission was to help them expand their product offerings. One key area was a 4Kp60 offering.
I immediately began by building relationships with all the stakeholders including the CTO, CEO, Manufacturing, Product Management, software and platform development, marketing, and support to identify not only the feasibility but also the market demand and proper price point. The challenges included finding the right hardware, software, vendors, and parts, ensuring compatibility with current products, and meeting a tight deadline.
The result was the Resi E4300. It is a server-grade 4K encoder and hardware appliance designed for professional multi-site and multi-destination broadcasting, commonly used for high-volume church and event productions. It features a 2U rackmount form factor, redundant power supplies, and dual-channel encoding to broadcast two simultaneous streams. I also left them with a proposal for the Resi Mini Encoder which was realized a couple of years later when the market was ready for it.
